Portinari Design Hotel was inaugurated in 2003, in Rio de Janeiro, located between the world known beaches of Copacabana and Ipanema, in the south zone of the city of Rio de Janeiro. Tthe hotel was designed with the purpose of creating a new concept of design in the hotel business. Named after one of the most famous painters in Brazil, it symbolized the boldness, quality and a deep love for the Brazilian culture. Striving to represent the soul and essence of the best quality in decoration, attendance, comfort and originality. Decorated by 10 of the most famous artists, decorators and architects from Brazil, some even recognized internationally, are proud to reflect in their art the principles and light started by the Painter Candido Portinari. Each environment -restaurant, apartments, spa, lobby- has a unique touch of each designer: Marcia Muller, Redó, Luiz Fernando Grabowski, Stella de Orleans e Bragança, Hélio Fraga, Gilmar Peres, Gustavo Penna e Cadas Abranches.
