The Library Hotel brings a unique concept to the world of hospitality in New York City and is a property that no book lover should ever miss. As the name suggests, the hotel is indeed organized just like a library with 10 floors arranged according to the Dewey Decimal System (the same used in most libraries over the world). You will therefore find entire floors of rooms dedicated to a specific subject and containing literally hundreds of books. The topics include social sciences, literature, languages, history, math & science, general knowledge, technology, philosophy, the arts and religion. Moreover, to allow you to share your thoughts regarding a book with other culture lovers or simply to sit back and relax with your favorite author, the hotel features two exquisite venues, a patio and lounge with their own terraces, the Poetry Garden and the Writer's Den. An exclusively appointed bar, located between the Poetry Garden and the Writer's Den, provides refreshments throughout the day and transforms into a beautiful cocktail lounge each Monday - Saturday evening. Furthermore, complimentary afternoon tea, coffee, cappuccino, espresso, cafe au lait, cookies and fruits are always available in the Reading Room. Imported champagne, fine wines and a selection of cheeses are served Monday to Saturday evenings from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wi-Fi Internet access is available in the Reading Room and in the business center, while sports lovers will enjoy free access at the nearby New York Sports Club. A meeting room for up to 12 people is located on the Penthouse level and same day dry cleaning service is also available. The first floor Madison & Vine Restaurant is the hotel's brand new American Bistro and international Wine Bar, serving lunch and dinner in a casually elegant setting.Local taxes (14.75% Total Tax + $3.50 occupancy tax per room per night) are not included in the price.
