Passengers affected by Spanair's shutdown can ask for a refund of the taxes included in their "rescue fares" tickets through Aena Aeropuertos.

  • They can submit their requests through post, and e-mail at vuelosrescateSPANAIR@aena.es.
  • The average amount to refund will be of 8 Euros per ticket.

Passengers affected by Spanair's Shutdown who purchased another plane ticket with the so-called "rescue fares" can apply for the reimbursement of the taxes.

As informed by Ana Pastor, Ministry of Public Works, these flights are tax-free, which involves an average saving of 8 Euros per ticket.

Passengers who purchased these tickets, for sale from January 27th and February 3rd, can request a tax-refund by writing to vuelosrescateSPANAIR@aena.es until February 13th.

The request must include:

  • All traveler details.
  • ID or Passport.
  • Bank account number where the refund will be paid.
  • A copy, or original, of the plane ticket or boarding pass of the Spanair flight.
  • Plane ticket or boarding pass of the "rescue fare" flight.
